A Big Loss And A Minor Lull

Posted by Active Belle on Feb 15, 2008 12:32:51 PM

Several things have slowed me down over the last week:

1) My cat died—I got her when I was 11 and we have been together for over 19 years. Needless to say, I was bummed and low on energy. I know that working out probably would have helped my mood but I just couldn’t motivate very well this week. (she was 17 in this photo)

2) My knees have been hurting—I got new shoes and few weeks ago and thought that would help, but I think I need to go into a running store, have them analyze my stride, and possibly recommend different shoes. I have been wearing New Balance for a while now and used to LOVE them but they just don’t seem to support me as well anymore.

Last Sunday I opted for a long hike instead of the run—it suited my mood—but I have not done anything since. I am headed out now to get in the water. Hopefully I just needed a little break and will feel re-energized going into the weekend.

Sorry to read about your kitty. Tough loss.

When you check into shoes, be sure you are selecting shoes for each sport. I think(?) you're still doing Active-X and that is a different activity than running.

Take care over the weekend. You'll have your spirit back soon ~
