It's been a bit since I posted last, so I'm sorry about that. This past week was crazy and I literally had no time for the computer or anything else for that matter. I came down with a cold last week, totally out of the blue, but I ended up spending the whole week taking care of myself and subsequently my girlfriend.
Anyways, I hate that I lost a week because I was really making some progress, but it was probably for the best.
I came back on Tuesday and started back on my program to see how much I lost. Turns out, I hadn't lost much at all and in fact, I ended up feeling better this run than I have in a long time. Funny how a week off can do a world of good, eh?
Here's how the rest of the week looks in terms of training:
Today: 2 softball games (Yay! )
Tomorrow: 5 miles in the am, decent pace
Friday: 6 miles in the am, slightly slower pace
Saturday: 3 miles, just under 5k pace
Sunday: 11 miles
I don't think I've ever ran 30 miles in a week, but I'm feeling better and better about my running, so I should do fine.
Also, I'm beginning my planning phase for this upcoming track season at Wentworth. I'm beginning my first year as head coach and distance coach. I'm using this first year as a learning year, trying to pick up new ideas to use and hopefully to keep students coming back. If anyone has any ideas for training programs in sprinting, distance and field events, it would be much appreciated!!!

I've realized that this blog hasn't become much of anything other than me complaining that I don't want to run.
I've decided that I will try and do more research on running and nutrition so that I can bring more to this community. Nutrition especially because that is something I have always been interested in but haven't learned nearly enough about.

I have a week off from classes but I'm still at school. Why? I thought it'd be a good idea to get some work study in since I'm a bit strapped for cash right now. However, sleep sounds so good right now!!
Anyways, had a really good run yesterday afternoon and I'm looking forward to the week ahead.

So today was supposed to be my long run...actually 8 miles to be exact. I have been feeling a bit tired this week so I decided to cut it back to 5 miles just so I can get some distance without killing myself. Turns out I barely made it 3 miles and felt like **** the whole time.
When will this end???
I know I need to change certain things in my life (i.e. sleep habits, food intake) to enable me to have more energy, but I have never felt this run down in a long time.
I've decided to run the Baystate Marathon as my qualifier for the Boston Marathon. It's close and from what I've heard its the easiest marathon to run that will qualify you for the Boston. One thing I've also found out about running in New England is that no race is ever easy.......ever.

Hey everyone! I have finally decided to start a blog. Each day, I will try to post about my training for a marathon (TBD) this winter. My hopes are to qualify for the Boston Marathon which is in only 10 months!
I am going with this for now, but I plan on doing more research and finding something that may work a little better with my schedule. Feel free to send me any of your thoughts, ideas or comments as well!
