- Mary McConneloug, Fairfax, Calif: Ninth in Athens 2004 mountain bike race, three-time USA national champion.
- Todd Wells, Durango, Colo: Third in 2007 Pan Am Games, deep success in cyclo-cross and mountain bike racing.
- Adam Craig, Bend, Ore: Under-23 National Champion, Cross Country. Gold medal winner, 2007 U.S. National Championships.
Modern pentathlon is Thursday and Friday, with former swimmer and triathlete Sheila Taormina making Olympic history.
