He sent me a note that let me know Kansas has recently passed a couple of bills to help cyclists. The first is a <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://www.kansascyclist.com/news/2011/07/3-foot-passing-its-the-law-in-kansas/">3-foot passing distance</a>, similar to Colorado.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;">&#160;</p><p>The second one I found more interesting and I haven&rsquo;t seen it before &ndash; the <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://blogs.kansas.com/gov/2011/02/22/house-greenlights-the-dead-red-motorcycle-bill/">&ldquo;Dead Red&#8221;</a> law. It helps both motorcycles and bicycles that aren&rsquo;t heavy enough to trigger a stop light change.
