Be careful running after such a long time in the car, start slowly and ease into it.
Your plan for next week looks good.
So have you decided that Hollis will be the goal race?
Dave,
The trail is a rail trail. I was tempted to leave my car on the road and just run in the snow. But I decided against it.
Oh, YES! I've decided on the June 5 Hollis race as my goal race. I gotta be honest though. I don't perform well under pressure. I get nerved up and my breathing goes to hell. So I'm hoping that I make my goal time at one of the earlier races....to aleviate some of the pressure at the Hollis race. If that happens I'll just set a new goal for Hollis. (Oh wait. That puts me back in the same position, doesn't it? Oh well.) LOL
Thanks for tip about running after travelling. I'll make sure I start slow.

Christina!
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for your comment! I LOVE to hear about other mothers who are floating around in the same boat (or sinking ship?) that I am. Sometimes I feel alone in my quest to raise kids while trying to keep the house from being swallowed by laundry, dishes, toys and clutter. The hardest part is trying to stay sane and somewhat intelligent while doing it.
My husband is taking an interview candidate to dinner tonight. So, I'm about to get the kids ready for bed and then try to reclaim my kitchen from the afterschool explosion.
Best of luck!
Megan
p.s. Yes, soap can definitely make a mess. ....mirrors, tile, counter, sink, floor, walls... oh, and what it does to wall paper!
Megan,
I just found your blog through active.com. I can so relate to you and your experiences...I have three kids also, ages 8, 5, 3. I register for about two to three races (running or triathlons) per year to keep me motivated to keep running and keep working out. It can be so hard with kids can't it! I can 100% relate to the messes you encounter at home (esp the poop mess). Messes happen quickly and often in my house and usually involves some sticky substance like poo, ketchup, soap (yes, soap can make a mess), eggs, etc. I am going to keep reading your blog, I really enjoy it and its very motivating for me to read about someone with similar experiences. The only difference is I am on the west coast and after looking at your pics, I cannot complain about weather.......ever.
