Thanks Belle. I guess I underestimated the fact the the whole course was downhill - except for a little uphill blip at mile two. I will definitely do that race again next year.

Congratulations to you too, on your Tri. I missed your blog post back in May and just looked it up this week. I agree with you on the cost of gear. Everytime I think about the possiblity of Tris in my future, I just see dollar signs.

Good luck to you. Thanks for dropping in on my blog. Your encouragement kept me going a couple different times over the last six months.

All best,
CONGRATULATIONS!! That is awesome. Wasn't it just a few posts ago that you said you probably wouldn't be able to run in 25 minutes. Look at you now! That is so great. Thanks for all the great blogs--they really help to keep me motivated in my own pursuits!

Thanks Melissa. I think I'll keep blogging my weekly report. Somehow, sending my weekly progress report into the depths of cyberspace helps hold me accountable for getting the miles in.

BTW, thanks for cheering.
sorry -- posted too early..... You are fast AND you look great! Keep up the good work! Feel free to continue blogging if you mind it motivating -- your cheerleaders aren't going anywhere.

After the race you won't have me coaching you online, but I'd be happy to keep coaching you. I coach a couple of other runners via email, plus as you said I'll be at the track workouts starting in July. As long as you want help, I'll be available.....

Thanks Dave. I am determined that if I don't make my 25:00 goal tomorrow, that I will hang onto that goal and try to get there by the end of the summer. I won't have a coach anymore, but I can still get advice at the track workouts.

Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the comment Belle. Wow, your grandma is 94!? That's great. Hopefully she's passed her longevity genes on to you.

My race is tomorrow and i tried to get a good night's sleep last night. But, alas, the middle child woke me up at 2am. Oh well. I don't really expect to run under 25:00 any more. I do hope to get under 27:00, though. That would still be a PR for me.

Happy training!
Ok. Sounds good.

I did two miles tonight. It was all I had time for before it got dark. But I did do a couple strides, just to see if my legs remember what my 5k pace felt like. They remembered. I think I'll jog easy 3 miles tomorrow.

Now I'm heading off to bed for a solid 9 hrs of sleep. (Accompanied by a prayer to the parenting gods, that I won't get woken by a crying kid at 2am.)

(Manti - It was a pleasure to meet you tonight. Good luck on your Tri!)
