No Weight Loss This Week

Posted by SLauer00 on Jan 28, 2008 7:03:43 PM

I am a little frustrated with the scale right now. I think it cheats and lies. I know that weight isn't everything and that success isn't based solely on weight loss, but I like to see that scale go down each week. I have been "weighing in" on the scale in my kitchen every week. Every week I have lost at least .1 lbs. This week, however, I gained a pound. Whats up with that?! I need some encouragement AND some advise on how to get past this. I have been eating healthy, following my work out plan, and doing crunches. What do I need to change?!?!?!?! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi Sara-  It sounds like you may have reached a plateau in your weight loss.  But all is not lost as this is very common.  It just means you are ready for the next level (the good news).  I am going to boost your walks to 45-50 minutes four days per week and include two Curves workouts.  As your body adapts and gets more fit, you will need more exercise in the form of time or intensity to reach results. Another way we can boost your metabolism is to once or twice per week walk twice instead of once.  This elevates your metabolism more frequently and aids in getting over the plateau.

I would recommend to continue to track and log your foods this week as sometimes 4-6 weeks into your new regimen things can sneak back into your diet:)

So get ready to rumble.  We're taking up a notch and you are ready for it!

Sara... dont let it through you mentally... this is the time that the general population steps off the bus and gives it up.   There will be many plateaus along the way... it is part of your body telling you it is ready for a step up.   Stick with it... it will pay off.   In 6 months people will ask you how you did it and you can just smile and say "I stuck with it!"

Sorry... that should read "Dont let it throw you..."
