TRIATHLON RACE SERIES HEATS UP:  With three Provincial Race Series events scheduled for July, the coming month promises plenty of hot racing action!

DESERT HALF TRIATHLON, July 6 - Event #6

The 4th Annual Persona Desert Half Iron Triathlon looks forward to welcoming athletes who have raced before, and those who will be racing for the first time. The Desert Half, run out of the town of Osoyoos, has been steadily gaining recognition as "Canada's Toughest Half Iron" due to the consistent sunny and hot weather!

The 2-loop swim course takes place in Osoyoos Lake, described as the warmest lake in Canada!  The epic, out and back bike course runs on the most challenging portion of the Ironman bike route (Richter Pass to Cawston), and the run is a 2 loop course that sees athletes run past beautiful, lakeside scenery.  For details, click on www.outbackevents.ca.

TRIATHLON OF COMPASSION, July 13 - Event #7

The 5th Annual Triathlon of Compassion is now open for online registration!  With a new venue (Esquimalt Recreation Centre) and an all new run course, the 7th event of the Provincial Triathlon Series offers prize money for the top three athletes in ALL categories!

A fund raiser for Victoria's Women's Sexual Assault Centre, the Triathlon of Compassion has set its sights on raising $25,000!  For details check out our www.tri-vi.com/13.

PEACH CLASSIC TRIATHLON, July 20 - Event #8

The 26th Annual Investors Group Peach Classic Triathlon is the oldest running triathlon in the Okanagan, and combines a 1.5 km swim in Okanagan Lake, a 40 km bike course through the Naramata Bench wine country and a challenging 10 km run uphill and back to the transition area at Rotary Lake Park.  The Tri Fest weekend begins July 19th, with the Boston Pizza Junior Triathlon for kids 8-15 years old, with the Investors Group Peach Classic on Sunday.  For more details, click on www.peachclassic.com
