NEED HELP?|

Currently Being Moderated

In June 2012 an anticipated triathlon event is coming up in the Bay Area. Now,  on June 24th, you can participate in the  5th annual Golden Gate Triathlon for Lazarex Cancer Foundation.  “Why”, you ask, should you run, swim, bike in this triathlon for a charity?

Tri-Freaks,  organizers of the Golden Gate Triathlon, decide to add a charity  component to the event. Lazarex Cancer Foundation was selected to be  the official charity and beneficiary of a portion the proceeds raised  during the race registration. While it is important to  note that this race is open to the public, only 750 participants are  allowed to sign up. This not only means that registration will run out  quickly, it also means that one of the  qualifying races that  lead to your acceptance in other races is limited.  Early registration is the key. Sign up now and  Lazarex will pay your entry fee and secure you a bib.

Are you worried whether or not signing up for Lazarex is worth it? Lazarex Cancer Foundation is a 501(3)(c) non-profit focused on giving  cancer patients a chance when regular treatments fail them. Founded in  2006, the caring touches this foundation brings are based on the  personal experiences of the founder, Dana Dornsife.

The Lazarex Cancer Foundation gives   cancer patients who  are considering clinical trials the money, hope and support needed to participate in FDA clinical trials.  Lazarex  will assist with navigating clinical trial options and help cover the  costs associated with participating in a clinical trial like airfare,  ground transportation, lodging, etc. in order for the patient to be  near the clinic hosting the trial. It also restores the dignity   cancer patients need in making end of life decisions due to the failure of previous cancer treatments. In other words, the Golden Gate  Triathlon is a way to have fun and give back to those that need it the most.

2012's race starts at East Crissy Field Beach in San Francisco and includes kayaks  positioned on the course to help give swimmers a break, if needed. Following the workout in the Pacific Ocean, the contestants continue by   biking around the beautiful park like wilderness of   the Presidio. Finally, an   out and back run across the Golden Gate Bridge will complete the third leg  of the triathlon.

An experienced triathlon event  will provide  plenty of resources to keep the out of town athlete organized ahead of  time. All of the courses are fully mapped and have adequate staffing  for each transition. Of course,  the most serious triathlon athletes will sign up because it is a truly professional and  unique event.   There are plenty of opportunities for the amateur to have fun as well.

Regarding donations and fundraising; our most effective tool is registering any of the 750  triathletes for the Golden Gate  Triathlon. By having   participants register directly through Team for Life, we draw awareness  to Lazarex’s cause. When you sign up as a Team for  Life member you get a complete fundraising kit, including a secure, personalized donation website.

Over time, our Team for Life   members help spread the word about us, ensuring that we can take on a record number of participants.  Helping cancer patients have access to the latest breaking cancer treatments to get a second chance at life is  Lazarex Cancer Foundation’s  mission. If you are ready to take on this challenge with us, do not  delay. Registration for the 2012 Golden Gate Triathlon will fill up  quickly and your advanced notice of participation is preferred.
