ELIZABETH KILLEN, Acct Exec Active Government did a 34K walk (21 Miles) in Montreal to raise money for women’s cancers.  Our team raised $42,000.   We were supporting a friend that was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer earlier this year. It was a great day and the feet were extremely sore but I did make it my mother’s 80th birthday party and managed to dance the night away! P.S.  I’m in the middle back row with sunglasses on.

JOSEPH SCHUM had a great weekend at the South Carolina Half Iron Distance.  Competing in the Masters Clydesdale division I finished in 1st Place with a time of 5:54.  Now, onward to IM Florida.

AMBER MARTIN and ASIA SIMONELLI headed out east for some camping in Rancho Cuyamaca State Park at the Green Valley campground. Amber went up Friday for a lot of hiking. The weekend total ended up around 15 miles. Asia arrived Saturday just in time for a hike straight up hill on the Monument trail, 5 miles round trip.

JAMIE WILLIAMS, Data Warehouse Architect in San Diego, went on a backpack trip to the summit of the triumvirate of 10K Foot Ridge, Lake Peak, and Grinnell Mountain, all 10,000+ footers in San Gorgonio Wilderness in Southern California.  We started the hike at just under 7,000 feet and hiked in, past a rare grove of Aspen trees, to Fish Creek Camp at about 8,600 feet, set up our tents, hiked a ways to get some water, and then got ready for happy hour aka dinner.  The night temps dropped to about 40 degrees . . chilly . . brrrr!!  The next morning bright and early we packed our day packs and headed up to the first peak on our hike going off trail straight up a nice ridge to 10,000 Foot Ridge (10,094').  Once we crested the top of the ridge, the rest of the hike up to 10K Foot Ridge was steep but easy.  We stopped for a quick snack and set off for Lake Peak (10,161') which was a short ways away.  We hiked back down to Fish Creek Saddle and across to Grinnell Mountain (10,284') to summit our third 10,000+ foot peak.  We descended to our campsite to break camp and hike back out.  A first-rate trip lead by a friend who is getting her "I" (off-trail) rating with the Sierra Club.

BROOKE KIRKPATRICK, Acct Mge ActiveSports and her dad climbed Mt. Harvard on Saturday.  Mt. Harvard is the third tallest mountain in Colorado standing at 14,420 feet.  The 13 mile round trip made it for a long day, but well worth it!  This mountain has it all... streams to cross, boulders to climb, and the last 100 feet requires hands and knees to reach the summit.

ANTHONY VALENTINO, San Diego based Account Executive (Higher Education), competed in the Sharp HospiceCare Benefit Regatta right here in San Diego Bay.  The crew aboard El Sueno took third in class in what was the most intensely aggressive regatta I’ve competed.  Decent wind, San Diego skyline, and the after party at the Coronado Yacht Club made for a great Saturday.

On Saturday, ERIC MA (MRI, M+M) finished his 2nd Hash Run, it was a 7KM A to A run inside of the city, started and ended at the Shuyuan Gate. He was the fifth of 25 finished the race, while nearly 10 runners got lost in the traffic followed by the confused course. The hash lead, Patrick "General Sanchez" Antony, got the new T-Shirts for the hashers, awesome design with all the hash names printed. Wait for the next race in two weeks!

JIM GARFIELD (M&M) raced the hot and steamy Chicago Triathlon this weekend.  It turned into a family affair when my brother joined in the Olympic distance and my 12yo nephew did the kids sprint. My nephew joined a 1,000 other under 13 year olds in the sprint distance.  Seems youth triathlon is catching on.  It was his and his friend’s fourth triathlon of the season! I asked why he liked doing them and he said because of the people and you get to do three sports not just one! Think that bodes well for our core business!

TRISH OBERHAUS also participated in her 4th Chicago Triathlon yesterday and had a blast. Lake Michigan was relatively warm, the wind wasn’t a big factor, and the city provided a beautiful backdrop as always for the World’s Largest Triathlon.
