JR SHERMAN, General Mgr. did the Warrior Dash 2010 (Windham Mtn, NY) this weekend... (Picture attached)  Good time.
http://www.warriordash.com/register2010_northeast.php  Really just wanted to get this to you as more of an opportunity for Endurance.  These types of races are really catching on.  Check it out....

MICHELLE CREPEAU ran the NYC Marathon Tune Up 18 Mile Race yesterday.  3 loops of Central Park, so definitely a few nice hills.

BRETT BURCH reported that some of the Boulder office rode the Good Same Bike Jam yesterday.  Brian O’Neill and I rode 60 miles.  Jeannie Freis, Michelle DelSanto, Stacey Edlund and Darcie Rodden rode 30 miles.

PATTI ROSENTHAL had an awesome weekend in Telluride Colorado with friends visiting from San Diego.  Went to Telluride for the Telluride Blues & Brews Music Festival - 3 days of great musicians including BB King.  STEVE MAZZA from the San Diego home office was also in Telluride.   Squeezed some epic mtn bike rides in the morning as well.  Took the gondola up to the top to ride some incredible single track at the Telluride ski resort - awesome views!

ALEX AFANDI had the privilege to assist with the Long Beach triathlon. Great spirit and smooth set up and tear down.  My mission was to set up the swim course along with other things. Of course, Sunday night movie premier was just another memorable even Active put on. Amazing people, amazing spirits, and an amazing movie!

BRITTANY BOWLES, Project Mgr. this weekend ran the “Jailbreak 2010”, a 3.8 mile course with 14 wet, muddy obstacles in Fort Worth, TX with my family.  It was very hot and humid but we had a blast.

SKIP CLEAVER ran the hilly Maynard (Massachusetts) 3.5 mile race yesterday and finished third in my age group.  I am making steady progress and slowly improving after a debilitating back problem following the USATF Mountain and Trail series this summer. Great job Skip keep it up buddy! MR

MATTHEW HENRY (Interaction Designer, Bothell, WA) returned to ultimate frisbee league play in the Samuel L. Jackson  Fall Hat League on Sunday.  His team, The Incredibles were decidedly not incredible, losing to Out of Sight 15-5.  In other news, he finished a hard 70 minute run with Team in Training on Saturday morning as he continues to train for the Goofy Challenge in January.

JIM GARFIELD (M & M) raced this weekend at the San Diego Classic Triathlon.  It was great seeing so many Active folks both past and present in the crowd and in the race. Rebecca Divita (Active Camps) took third in her division with a blazing time! We even got to chill a bit with Chris (Macca) McCormack and grab breakfast with him, as he came to smoke the field on his way to Kona World Championships. Can’t say I have ever had to sign a pollution waiver before for the swim though!

JESSICA WEXLER (ActiveWorks Sr. Business Analyst) went camping last weekend at Hurkey Creek near Idyllwild. While there I took my new mountain bike out for a ride on the 24 Hours of Adrenaline Course. Photo Caption: Wheeeeee!!!!!!!!!

KAT KEIVENS, Online Account Coordinator San Diego, and JAMIE WILLIAMS, Data Warehouse Architect San Diego, both completed their first Olympic distance Triathlon.  On Saturday they competed in the San Diego Triathlon Classic along with fellow Activers Jim Garfield and Rebecca Divita.  It was a great course at Liberty Station filled with encouraging spectators around the transition area and all along the course.  It was a perfect day for the event - overcast and slightly cool to start with the sun coming out just at the finish.  Kat did a great job placing 5th in her age group.  Her results from her first Olympic Tri are in! She finished with an overall time of 3:12:51, 155 out of 244 women, 572 out of 736 overall. Splits: Swim-37:09, Bike-1:28:30, Run-1:02:14.  Jamie finished with an overall time of 3:07:28, 395th out of the men and 533rd overall.  Thanks also to Karen Hardy, Nolan Hansen, and Brett Davies who came out and supported!

From the Singapore office! They took part in the Nicorette Quitters Run to support CHRIS BURI in his journey to quit smoking.  This is the first and only run in the world to promote smoking cessation.  Chris Buri, GRACE TAI and BRIAN BERGEY were joined by two ex-Active employees Siew Yee (Singapore office) and Nathalie (London office) for the 7.5k run.  It was especially significant since not only is Chris quitting the habit, but he has also never participated in a running race before.  We are very proud of his enthusiasm and a great, sprint finish at the end!

JSON KARLS (UX Lead, ActiveWorks Endurance) NW cyclocross was in full effect this last weekend (and through nov).  I rode in the Rad Racing GP (masters 35+) on Sunday and managed to crash and derail twice while still avoiding last place. These races are blowing up and every category was near capacity. At least I wasn’t lapped by the single speeds this year!  This is such a fun sport and there’s so much to learn/improve on.  We need to form an active.com cyclo-x team!

JOHN COYNE, Search Engine Mkt Mgr participated in the San Diego Classic triathlon on Saturday.  It was a lot of fun, though I could have done without a flat rear tire on the cycling section.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST – The ActiveX Gala in San Diego Sunday night was attended by over 100.  It was a ton of fun and the ActiveX premier movie was Oscar material.  Here is a pic of just some of the lovely Active crew attending of EMILY NESSELROAD-SLADE, ANUSHEH CHAVEZ & LINDSEY NESSELROAD.  Along with MIKE & ROSE REILLY. Plus ARCH FUSTON & LIZ WORTHEN HARRELL
