It all gets started at Radio City Music Hall.
While Team USA is already in New York, the official tipoff of the World Basketball Festival isn't until Thursday.
That's when Team USA plays in a Showcase Game at Radio City Music Hall at 6 p.m. Radio City is an interesting place to set up a basketball court, as it's basically a stage and not a traditional sports arena venue. But Radio City has played host to basketball before-- the WNBA's New York Liberty played there recently:
Should be fun.
Do you want to be even more connected with the historic World Basketball Festival? Obviously, iHoops will have plenty over the next week from New York City, including articles, photo galleries, blog posts right here and more.
But Twitter is the way to stay on top of all the action in the world, and this weekend's festivities will be talked about often in the Twitter universe. Here are a few accounts to follow over the next week.
iHoops' Twitter page. In addition to Tweeting on location from the First Team conference in Phoenix, we will be tweeting live from New York during all the WBF festivities to keep you on top of everything going on in the basketball world. Who says August is the offseason?
Kevin Durant's Twitter. The leader of Team USA just posted a new blog you can read here.
Nike Basketball's Twitter. Nike is giving away tickets to various WBF events via Twitter this week.
Steph Curry's Twitter. Quite possibly my favorite player on Team USA. Class act, great basketball player.
And make sure to follow the Twitter hash tag #wbf to see what the world is saying about the WBF. Being that it's an international event, there are a lot of different people and a lot of different languages talking WBF. It's really cool!
That's all for now.
