In 2009, the Asterisk Mobile Medical Center will be equipped with Shock Doctor’s Eject Helmet Removal System at all motocross and supercross events. Pulling a helmet off of a crash victim can cause injury to the neck and spine. The Eject Helmet Removal System allows for safe emergency removal of a helmet, by pushing it off the head after the spine has been immobilized. Because the helmet is lifted and not pulled, the crash victim’s head and neck are stabilized and the potential for further injury is significantly reduced. All emergency medical technicians and paramedics working inside the unit will be trained on its use. That's some sick footage. And to see how much ESPN covers action sports like snowboarding these days is a pleasure. I know lot's of people feel like action sports would have been better off staying under the radar, but I think it's only pushing the athletes to bigger heights. Besides, why would anyone not want to see their favorite sports on tv??

Wow, I don't even know how anyone can judge which of those waves is the biggest and heaviest. I'd have to go with the one in France, just for sheer size, but those Teahupoo waves have to be unmatched in sheer speed, power and gnarliness of the break. If you fall, you're in deep doo-doo because that reef is within touching distance of the surface.

Kyle Bennett and Jill Kintner claimed the titles at the BMX National Championships this past weekend in DeSoto, Texas. The win was worth 8 points towards their national ranking, bringing them one step closer to securing nominations to the 2008 Olympic team.

Bennet is back after skipping last year's nationals due to an ACL tear. He now has a 44-point lead in the rankings. Kitner only has a 2-point lead over rival Arielle Martin.

Only two races remain before the World Championships in Taiyuan, China at the end of May.

I totally agree. I'm stoked to see snowboarding getting some more recognition these days too. I'm excited about Burton's campaign to get more resorts to open to snowboarding. Should be good for the sport!
