Could this be the road to recovery???

Hey there friends and neighbors,

I bet you thought I'd forgotten about you. Ha! never.

Things have been going great here in Nashrock, and the new year

has been "betty, betty gude to me." SNL fans, I know you're with me.

I've started training for the Country Music 1/2 that will take place in April and to this point, things have been

pretty good. I'm on my second pair of orthotics, the first ones didn't really do the trick.

Thank you Heather at Orthotic Therapy for being so understanding and for doing your best to

try and get me back on the road.

But this pair seems to be doing fine. I won't know if they have truly fixed my problem until I start

getting into the higher mileage but I'm optimistic.

The weather has been brutally cold so I've been hitting the treadmill, ugh!

You know I really don't mind it that much and I refuse to use it if I can run outside but I have to do my runs

in the morning, like at 5:00 AM, so hitting the Y and staying warm really sounds much more appealing to me than layering up and freezing my... well you know what I'm trying to say.

But warmer weather is just around the corner I can feel it. In fact I got an easy three outside this evening after rehearsals, so things are shaping up.

Oh yeah, we are back in rehearsals. It's that time of the year and it's time to make the donuts.

It feels good to get back into it and see my brothers. We really have a great time. And playing music is what I love to do so it's a welcome opportunity.

The future looks big and bright but I'm not going to dwell on it too much. All I can do is make today the best    day I possibly can, put one foot in front of the other and shut up and run.

Be Well,

Deano

Great to have you back, Deano! Keep those feet happy

Hi Deano!

Glad to hear that you will be running the 1/2 Marathon in Nashville and being a part of Team McGraw.  I am looking forward to finally meeting you!  It's going to be a great weekend day for Team McGraw!

Yes, it's been a super cold winter in my hometown of Geneva, IL which is 40 miles west of Chicago. I have been running on our new, indoor ruberized track at the Park District Center.  It's really gentle on the feet and I think I'm going to be spoiled when I do start running outside.  Last week the temp hit 64 degrees and I took to the trails along the river.   Gosh... it was great to be outside and in nature! (My favorite thing about running!)

Glad those orthotics are working for you.  (We'll have to "talk" orthotics when we meet!)  I've worn mine for over 20 years and I really can't live with out them.   Since I teach PE, I'm on my feet all day.  They keep my back in alignment and they support my fallen arches in both feet.

Take care, and be well.

Ya Gotta Believe!
