Towards the end of my run today i was really thinking about the Chicago Marathon in 14 days.  How would i do?  Am i ready? How much will it hurt?  But before i knew it i was focused on the rest of Team McGraw.  How was everyone's training?  Is everyone training smart?  Are they raising lots of money?  As my legs began to get heavy i drew inspiration from the heroes that we run to honor.  When i think of how hard some of their days can be i quit whining about my sore foot.

Hi Kevin,

I couldn't agree more!  When my legs start to hurt, I think about all they have to endure and it gives me strength to keep going.  On those long runs, it's easy to say, my legs hurt, to whine, etc. and before you know it, you've talked yourself out of running!  When my feet/legs hurt, I immediately start to think of the people that we run for and it gives me the strenght to keep on running.  There's this one gentelman last year in our support group who had 96 hours of chemo. I kept thinking that if Henry can deal with 96 hours (4 days) chemo straight, then I could run for 4 hours.  It still gets me through.  Henry still comes to the meetings!  The heros that we run for are amazing.
