Later L.A. Marathon Date Heats Up Some Runners

Typically a late February/early March race, the L.A. Marathon is moving to Memorial Day for 2009. This article in the L.A. Times takes a look at the pros and (mostly) cons of the change, particularly the fact that a late season race date means warmer weather and potentially slower times.

What do you think? Are you less likely to register for the L.A. Marathon now that the date is later than usual? Or are you excited to kick off summer with a run in SoCal's City of Angels?

Do you think registration numbers~~which have been well over 20,000 in recent years~~will drop drastically? Or is this change in a time of change for the better?
