Ironman races are often known for particular weather: Arizona's heat, Florida's humidity, Kona's...everything. Athletes, spectators and fans will always remember the 2008 Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid for the sometimes torrential downpours that soaked the 10th anniversary event.

Yet despite the continuously wet weather, 2,345 competitors finished the race. And then it quickly sold out for 2009. Clearly, Lake Placid has become a favorite among North American triathletes.

You can watch a highlight video narrated by Paula Newby-Fraser and Michael Lovato at the NA Sports website.
