Ready to streamline the hundreds (if not thousands) of emails you manage each season?

Our new SmartMessage Center helps you send out emails and manage all responses in one single location! Want to learn more?

Go to the Team/Group Messages folder in Admin and click to play our Video Demo. Check out our FAQ page as well.

If you have a Team site type you will see the Team Messages folder. If you have a League or Org site you will see Group Messages.

Your members and fans also have the ability to use the SmartMessage Center. On your main site they will see a Team Messages/Group Messages link. Members can contact other members of your site and fans can contact other fans. If you don't want members and fans to contact each other using this feature, you may turn it off at anytime within the Pages section of the Access folder.

This feature is available on Team, League and Organization site types.

Our Board currently sends emails out to everyone to communicate about issues in between meetings.  We're looking for a more efficient way of doing this.  The Message Boards could be, except that the content should remain among the board only - not the general membership.  These SmartMessages seem like the email will simply flow to a different account.  Do you have any suggestions?

Hi,

That is exactly what you'd use the SmartMessage for!   You select who you'd like the message to go to.  We autopopulated groups for you (administrators, members, etc.).  However, you can create your own contact list as well.  You could create one for Board for example.

It seems as though SmartMessage would stream as a number of emails, rather than a blog thread like what is being created here.

Right it sends email communication among other things, it isn't a blog.  I would give the SmartMessage a test so you can see how it works.   Select "send Smart Message", select a template (or skip the template to create your own) then select to "test."

Also note that the SmartMessage Center has something called “Team Feed”, which streams all the messages, responses and comments on one web page.  If you’d like to comment on a message or view comments from others, you can start at Team Feed and then click on the messages or comments you’d like to see and/or respond to.  This helps to keep all the team activity in one place!

My association hosts 2 separate multi-day, multi-site tournaments and sccheduling volunteers is a nightmare. Is there a way to send a calendar where volunteers would fill in their shift and post it or would it be easier to have volunteers respond with their top choices of locations and shifts?

Jan 6, 2009 10:32 PM Guest Chris  says in response to Ken_Sass:

There isn't a shareable calendar yet, but it is something we are working on.  Using the Smart Message Center (SMC) you could either create a message using the "Choices" or "Rows & Columns" formats.  Using Choices you can list up to 30 options for people to select from, everything will be combined so you and your volunteers can see what has been selected already prior to replying.  If they choose an option already selected, they can always change their choice at any time.  If you use Rows & Columns, you can lay all the choices out in a grid and let people put in their choice.  Instruct your volunteers to check the grid prior to responding.  They can do this by accessing their SMC from the team website.  Once everyone has responded, just publish the results in from the SMC for everyone to see.  Hope this helps.  If anyone else has any tips to share, we'd love to hear from you.
