Will Work(out) for Food

Ok, so the other day I was craving sushi, and my favorite place (good food and the right price) is DOWNTOWN San Diego.  I don't know what your local down town is like, but San Diego is a pain... and it was Friday night.  I knew going into it that I would have to park in the mall nextdoor, run up and down a bunch of stairs and then get to the sushi place.  A lot of the time this is just too much of a barrier and I won't even go... but here's what I figured out...

Friday was not a work out day, but going all the way from the mall to Sushi Deli 2 got my heart rate up and added a good little 10 minute workout to what would have been just a lazy day (as well as quite a few stairs).  This really got me thinking.  Maybe I should purposefully park far away from places so I get in just a little exercise. A lot of times we can't fit a whole 30 or 45 minute workout, but if you add about 2 or 3 minutes here and there by taking the stairs at work or parking farther away than needed it's definitely a step (or more) in the right direction... and if you do this 5 times a day, you've fit in a mini-workout!  It's also not a bad thing to park far away from all the other cars to protect your own car from all those nasty scrapes that people leave behind.

Anyway, there are my words of wisdom for the day.  Enjoy!
