Is 5 minutes endurance??

Posted by JewylA on Jan 20, 2009 3:38:17 PM

Wow... all I have to say is that I can't believe that jogging (and I mean at a snail's pace) for 5 minutes is not easy.  I guess we're building up endurance, but it's a good thing we're starting so slow because apparently I have none... well not none... 5 minutes of endurance.  I can endure a mere 5 minutes of jogging before a walking break.

The thing about it is that I've actually improved.  If you're reading this blog maybe it's because you, too, are a rookie.  Let me say this... Don't feel embarrassed about how out of shape you are.  The only thing to be embarrased about is not doing anything about it. Even getting out on a walk is way better than the average American.  I should know because that was me last year, but now I feel pretty good about things.  I mean, I can jog for 5 minutes.  I wonder how much the average american can jog... well, how much can you jog?

I'm glad I'm not the only rookie trying to plow through the 5-minute jogs!  But it's fun seeing improvement - and motivating.  I'm seriously trying to do a "tiny" bit better each time just to beat my previous workout.  Four months from now we'll be amazing!

We've gotta crawl to walk and jog to run, right? Great job plowing through. Keep up the great work!
