My daughter asked me the other day if I made a typo when I posted how far I "ran" in 25 minutes. Luckily, I'm good natured and not easily offended
. Well, this week our training plan includes more jogging than walking and I'm proud to say my pace is beginning to pick up. Although I do love those walking breaks! I actually completed the entire training session as recommended and moved into a 16-minute mile pace (just barely, but I'm there). I'm happy with that and will be really happy if I can keep it up. I know I'll be able to improve over the next few months as I continue to increase my endurance and lose some additional weight.
Oh, yeah - I bought new running shoes yesterday. The first video from our coach, Dave, addressed running shoes and I finally went to a running store to get fitted with the proper shoes for my feet. I got the shoes that fit the best - they weren't even on sale and they aren't the most attractive shoes I've ever owned. As it turns out, the shoes I've been wearing were too big. So now, properly fitted, I'm jogging better. Not sure if it's all in my mind, or if the shoes really helped, but whatever works, right?
Thanks to everyone leaving me comments and notes of encouragement! It really helps...
Glad you've gotten new shoes Ronnie! Just think... you will cross the finish line in that pair! Progress is progress---so I'm glad you have been able to make it through. Keep it up!
