I appreciate this one as you and I have shared quite a few cycle-commuting adventures and many more to come. Good luck keeping up your streak this week. One of my new years resolutions is to get hit by one less car this year. With train prices up to $5.50, I'm sure there will be a few more cyclists on the road to help promote cycling in SD. Ride safely my friend!

I tried to look up 'seal ritual' on wikipedia, but only came up with an article on an Ingmar Bergman film instead. So is this resurrection like when Neo brought Trinity back to life in the third Matrix movie? Or is it more of a Highlander moment, where seals are actually immortal, but they need their brothers and sisters to restore their soul to the body?

Perhaps more research is needed...

Unfortunately, the endurance sports world doesn't exactly allow athletes to pretty much stand in one spot and wave their arms (I'm thinking of first baseman, middle linebackers and hockey goalies...just kidding), so it does help to do "some" cardio routines. I like to mix things up as much as possible. While I respect those people who can go out long and never look back, I need a little spice in my workouts--hills, intervals, sprints to the nearest boulangerie...whatever. I find that livening things up a bit helps motivate me toward my next race. Good luck to you, as well. Let me know how things are going.
