I was in Whistler, BC this weekend to open my ski season and it was perfect! Unlimited visibility, 3' of snow, almost no wind, -12C at the summit. For the first time I was able to go all the way to the top of Mount Whistler (usually it is closed due to the weather conditions), and took a great run from there.
Since it was just the beginning of the season, there were no lineups to chairlifts and not crowded on the sloops.
Also I was testing my new Atomic skis and was very satisfied with purchase.
It was hard to imagine a better opening!
I worked hard this weekend...did a big wine tasting tour in Temecula. I'd say all the running I did for races this season gave me the endurance to visit all those wineries!
