Bret Harris - Account Manager for Team Sports: I participated in the 17th Annual Surfrider Foundation Paddle for Clean Water event in Ocean Beach on Sunday. It was an incredible event. Thousands of people showed up toting surfboards, kayaks, body boards, paddle boards and pretty much anything else that could float to make the long trek around the OB Pier. The event started to help raise awareness for the numerous clean water issues that San Diego-ans'...San Diego-ites...San Diegans'....(you get the idea)...are currently facing. It was great to see so many people out supporting the cause, and being stuck in a traffic jam the length of 5 football fields in the middle of the ocean was definitely a unique experience!

Although I do have a brother named Michael--he is not the one that did 70.3 miles on Saturday. He was probably drinking a beer somewhere near Boulder, Colorado that day.

Toby - thanks for sharing those wonderful photos of the Active-Warriors. The Lake Placid IM start serves as a gentle reminder of why I am not trying to stretch myself to compete in events beyond "running". It also gives lie to the name of the Lake (or at least that little corner).
