Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm setting up an impromptu Happy Hour this Thursday at Padre Murphy's bar, 43rd Ave. and Bell Road in Glendale. Our company had a hellacious week last week, with almost everyone working overtime to meet deadlines on three different projects that all converged like the perfect storm! So we're going to blow off some steam, and I maneuvered things to get it at a bar that serves MGD64.

If you happen to be in the area on Thursday, stop by! We're starting happy hour about 5:30, but should be there for a couple of hours. I'll be wearing my black MGD64 jersey (everyone at work wants to see what it looks like anyway).

Kim

Oh man....I was hoping this was in Tempe...not Glendale.  NEXT time!

I would of loved to come as well but Glendale is a bit far for me too.  Next time too!

Hi Kim!

How was your Happy Hour last night?  Would love to hear about it.

Cheers!

We had a great time! About 15 people showed, and all but two tried the MGD64 (we have a couple of wine snobs in the office who declined the free MGD64 and paid for their own wine instead). The owner of the company even attended and brought his wife, and they paid for the appetizers (which made everyone really happy - free beer AND food!). I arrived early and set out coupons and the calorie counter pamphlets on the tables. I didn't see a lot of people taking the coupons, but they really got a kick out of the calorie counters and there was a lively discussion about the 1000+ calories in tortilla chips.

I overheard a lot of positive comments about MGD64, things like, "hey, this is surprisingly good!" and "it really does taste light and less filling!"  One co-worker commented that Miller always makes good beer, and I overheard bits and pieces of a disparaging discussion about Bud (someone used the work "swill" to describe Bud Light).

I guess there isn't a way to add photos to this blog comment, but I already turned in my activity report and attached two pictures to that.

I also set up my next happy hour (and sent in the Event Request form for that) for Wednesday, February 18 at Skip and Jan's Sports Bar in Tempe.  I'll post a reminder on this blog when the date gets closer.
