The National Lacrosse League season was rescued when a new collective bargaining agreement between the league and the Professional Lacrosse Player's Association was reached Thursday, October 25. The agreement will begin in 2008 and run through the 2014 season, which means the 2008 season will still be played although the start will most likely be delayed beyond the original December 26 start date. The players and the league seem happy about the decision and are eager to get back to giving their fans the fast-paced and high-intensity indoor lacrosse action they deserve. The new 2008 National Lacrosse League schedule should be announced sometime this week. Stay tuned for details.

The NLL did this back in 2003 i believe. It's kind of ashame that the commissioner has to treat the players/league this way. The players total compensation and benefits is extremely low, and on top of that, he hardballs them on every issue. These guys are notmaking millions, they just want to play to play the game. The league max for a player in 2003 was something like 35k. Throw on top of that, that indoor lacrosse is a brutal game and you have what adds up to a poor labor situation for the players.

Great footage! I wish that indoor could bring as much excitement as the outdoor leagues!

The NLL stinks. The owners are making more than people realize b/c the players are virtually slaves. The league reminds me of the movie Gladiator. The MLL better learn from the NLL's mistakes.

Hopefully TV ratings and owners willing to take an early loss in the hopes of future gains will allow that league to stick around for a while. Need owners with deep pockets, which I believe the MLL has for the most part.

Fact: Lacrosse is the fastest growing youth sport in America.

Question: Why is it struggling so much at the professional level?

After hearing about the initial NLL season cancellation, New York Titans Greg Peyser was set to try his luck in a different realm of professional sports: The Arena Football League. Peyser obviously returned his focus to lacrosse and the Titan's when he heard the season was back on, but what an interesting back up plan.
