Hi ladies!

 

My name is Anette and I am part of the Philadelphia team. I was wondering if any of you live in the philadelphia/nj area?

 

 

I am planning to be at the GIRLS on the run event in Lehigh Valley on June 2nd. Is anyone else planning to be at this event?

I'll be there.  Probably not very awake since I'm running the Sunburst Marathon the day before and driving back through the night to the GOTR event, but I'll be there.

I have a call into Team Stay Put... it seems that the Girls on the Run changed the event and our Team was not aware.  I have the flyer that I received from kathi who is running the event.  It will be Monday, June 2, 2008 @ 6:30pm.  It says the location is Little Lehigh Parkway, Allentown.  I hope eveyone can still go and I will keep you updated on anything else.  I sent everyone Kathi's email address on email just incase you want to say hello.

This is the first year for the event with Kathi in LHV.

It is June 2nd so if you can, plan on it.

Huh.  Then the main GOTR needs to get their website together, as it still lists it as 6/1.  Though I see on the diakon website it lists it as 6/2.

 

I had originally asked Lindsay if I could do the 6/9 event in Hillsborough which is closer to me than Allentown.  She said she preferred weekend events due to the marketing.  6/2 definitely works better for me, so I'm very interested to hear her opinion on a weekday race.

 

Anette ... I live in the city but I'm in the Northeast.  I will be running around the loop more often this summer to better prepare for a 24H I'm racing there in July.  If you don't mind running at the speed of turtle PM me and we can see if we can hook up a run or two.

I responded to the email y'all may have gotten this morning re. team leader.  We'll see what happens there.

 

I sent an email to Kathy Eichman re. Monday's event.  Specifically to confirm where this event is (I believe it's the big park off of Vultee Street where I've run a few 5Ks before but I'm not sure), if arriving by 5pm is OK, etc.  As more information rolls in I'll let you know.  I'm in Baltimore tomorrow but will post as I can.

I emailed Lindsay about the GOTR event on Monday and she said to hold off. As of now, i will just wait and see if anything comes up in the fall.

I don't want to wait until fall.  I have a jampacked race schedule and my work travel is busier then.  Seems that the email above conflicts with Lindsay's email to you.  Doesn't seem like one hand knows what the other is doing.  If I hear from Kathy, I'm going on Monday.  Again, I'll keep everyone posted.

Maybe i did not get it because i was not signed up for an event? My biggest event of the year is in less than a month, i cannot take off of work or miss a long run to go to a GOTR event right now My training is way too important.

I am the Team Leader for this event.  The Team is FedExing me a box of stuff we need for the event.  I will arrive onsite at 5pm on Monday.  I'll be the one in the glorious orange/turquoise with red hair.  A stunning combination!  I'll be manning the hair station and running with the girls.

YES! Western States, if i do not die of a heart attack before then!! I had a BLAST at last year's GOTR event and really hope to go to another one this year, but my weekends are booked for like the next gazillion weeks with races, etc.
