Hi Team San Francisco,
Thanks to everyone for your sweet emails of support for the marathon. I had a great race at CIM. My total time was 3:16:13. It was a PR for this course and my second fastest marathon. I dedicated mile 19-20 to Goody Team StayPut. It took a lot of mental motivation at that point and you all helped me through it whether you realized it or not!
We have some Turkey Trots to report on!
Stephanie's report on the San Jose Turkey Trot:
"I did the San Jose Turkey trot. The course was long (6.24 miles by a friend's GPS), and there was one spot where everyone (including the 5K walkers with their large double strollers) had to go through a really narrow tunnel, so there was a bottleneck and some forced walking, but at least it didn't rain! Made me feel less guilty about stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie later though! And wasn't that the point?"
Melissa's report on her Turkey Trot:
" I did a Turkey Trot 2 weekends ago and actually won a Turkey for placing first in my age group! Go figure."
Anyone looking for one more race in 2008?
I am half entertaining the idea of running the Christmas Relays this coming Sunday. Slowly, of course because I don't know how much my legs and body can take after the marathon. Is anyone interested in running as a team? The relay teams consist of 4 people. The total distance each runner will cover is a 4.464 mile loop around Lake Merced in San Francisco. We can run as a Goody Team StayPut Team(s) and try to get some publicity. Or we can also bring friends out and build teams that way. Shoot me an email if you are interested.
