New Jersey Longest Day - 2013 - Looking for SAG on June 1st or June 8th

Hey all,

I am looking to see if any riders would be willing to share SAG support for this year's NJ Longest day ride. I am a single rider (due to the fact that my friend can't do it this year) and have no SAG support. I am an experienced rider who has completed this ride twice, both times under 13 hours. I would be willing to share in the cost for the driver for the day and I can find my own way to High Point the night before. I also don't need a ride home. I am looking to do the ride on June 1st or 8th. Please reach out to me if you would be willing to help out. Hope to hear from someone! Thanks.

I started with the Dolphins Cycling Challenge in November and next month I'm taking part in the Bike MS Break Away to Key Largo April 21-22. Does anyone just ride the Lighthouse Century without registering?

Does anyone just ride the Lighthouse Century without registering? Like locals...Only because it sells out in like 5 minutes. I have 3 friends riding in it that registered and paid. They want me to join them but I'm not sure if I can or should or will get in trouble if I do from the organizer.

I live in Solvang and do the organized rides here and never register/pay. We just ride the route the day of. We never run into any problem. You just forgo a number, road assistance and whatever lame gift they decide to give you. Not sure if this ride is similar....Please advise me.

BTC-Bicycle Tour of Colorado

I just got back from the BTC last week, it was the best organized bike tour that I have ever been on, it was also the most scenic and challenging. There was a little of everyting, major climbs, hair raising downhills, many miles along the Colorado River, and great overnight cities like Estes Park, Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Spring and Frisco. This year there were quite a few obstacles thrown at the organizers like a big snow storm on top of Trail Ridge Rd., the Colorado River washing out about 16 miles of bikepath that we were supposed to ride on and CDOT's initial decision not to let us ride on I-70. Their fast thinking and persistance dealt with all of these! There was great support and adequate rest stops along each stage of the rides 460 miles. There wew 1500 riders with a good mix of age and gender. I would highly recommend this ride to any enthusiastic bike rider. I am from Ohio, and working hard on the hills around here did allow for adequate preparation for the big ones out there. www.bicycletourcolorado.com

U.S. ROUTE 6 BIKE TOUR

On November 1, 2011, two wildland firefighters will be begin the U.S. Route 6 bike tour. Departing from Bishop, CA and arriving (30 days later) in Provincetown, MA. (3205 mi.) It is a benefit ride for the Prarie Healing Center of Wichita, KS. We are currently working on developing a website for the Route 6 Tour, but there will be charity rides scattered all over the U.S. on the Route 6.

We understand that it is winter, and the riding conditions can be extreme, but these guys will fight through anything and encourage communities to jump on board and push themselves for multiple causes. Tentatively we will be posting sign up to join parts of the tour. There will be a chase vehicle following riders as they head east, and riders can turn back at their descretion. Most rides will be "Century Rides" however, riders will be responsible for getting themselves home. We currently have the following destinations established for Route 6 group rides: Bishop, CA

Tonopah, NV

Payson, UT

Denver, CO

Hastings, NE

Lincoln, NE

Des Moines, IA

Napolean, OH

Vermillion, OH

Warren, PA

Port Jervis, NY

Danbury, CT

and there will be 1 final departing port in which is undecided to finish out the ride to Provincetown.

Attatched is the "relative itinerary" These marked towns will be stopping and starting points of the trip. (except for day 3 in ely, they will ride through Ely, NV on day 3 and will depart Delta, UT on day 5) So the dates aren't exact, but these destinations are pretty much set.

The two Route 6 riders are very social and love meeting new people and exchanging stories. We hope to meet everyone who joins the tour for a leg, or part of a leg. This is still in the making, so any suggestions would be much appreciated. We appreciate the support and encourage riders of every level to take part in one of the to be greatest rides in America.
