Pain on Inside Right Knee

Tips for relieving Thumb/Wrist Pain?

Cycling is pretty hard on it, to the point I try to control the bike with my right hand.

Squeezing the brake is especially hard! So on top of the pain, it's not particularly safe, and it's not so good for my right hand! Has anyone successfully managed to continue riding with a condition like this? What sorts of accommodations have your found to make riding more bearable?

Thanks,

Ohmykins

Cycling again after an accident?

So roughly 3 months ago, just after I ordered my full carbon/ultegra super light-weight road bike, I crashed hard. There was a plastic bag in my path, and I knew it was there and did everything to avoid it, but it hit it. The bag caught air and snagged into my rear derailer. I was thrown several feet, cracked my helmet, and badly hurt my hip. I was in the best shape of my adult life...

So now, instead of heading out for a fun 50, I go for 5 or 10. I went from 150 a week to about 20. I am losing my muscle and my confidence.

How have other people bounced back?

Newb question from experienced cyclist - saddle sores?

Ok, here's a newbie question from a longtime cyclist -- I've been riding for years... thousands and thousands of miles, touring, commuting, racing, etc, both road & mtb ...and never had a saddle sore.

All of a sudden over the past year or so I'm getting them. If that's what the are. I'm not really sure. We're talking giant, volcanic pimple like things on my upper, inner thighs ...actually much lower than i would've guessed a saddle sore would occur.

Not much has changed over the years... I actually ride fewer miles ...more 20-40 mile rides, fewer centuries ...seem to get one of these on every significant ride.

Suggestions, ideas???

Pain in the nether regions

Sorry for the cryptic title, but the true nature of my issue might set off privacy filters...

When I bike for any duration, I develop a dull, aching pain in my left testicle. Standing, rearranging things both help a little, but generally only for a few pedal strokes. I'm tempted to guess it's a twisted testicle but I'm not sure. Anyone have any suggestions?

NOTE: early in the season (or in my training season -- this year *my* season didn't start until a few weeks ago), this pain crops up after 30-40 miles. Later in the season it develops after more mileage--say as high as 100+. I'm somewhat overweight (20 lbs), and I spread fat across my body. I'm inclined to believe it's the rubbing between an overly-large thigh and my, uh, anatomy that might be at play. But I'm totally clutching at straws here.

Any guys have history with an increased PSA (prostate) and your doctor saying biking can contibute?

I just came from my 2nd doctors visit tracking my ever increasing PSA numbers and he suggested (which we previously discussed) that my bike riding, especially prior to have the blood work done, might drive up my PSA artificially. He suggested that I consider getting a seat with a hole in the middle-which I've seen but never considered. I'd appreciate any feedback regarding others experiences regarding biking and the correlation to an enlarged prostate. Has anyone had a doctor say that biking does aggravate a prostate or further what may be a propensity to have an enlarged prostate.

I'm 56 and three quarters (but who's counting) and started back to riding a road bike two summers ago when I got my first new ride in 25 years. That winter, after increasing my summer/fall routine, I rode my old bike as a trainer getting ready for ski trips and that's when the standard enlarged prostate problems (that you see advertised on TV) started for me. I never really tied the two together (perhaps I was naive) and have been more committed to riding this summer than I have in 30 years. I'm getting in between 300-400 miles a week but for the first time will be riding in three Century's this fall.

This doctor wants to take biopsy's and said that I'll need to stop riding for a bit (1-3 weeks) afterwards. I'm just wondering other guys experience with tying the biking and prostate issues together. Thanks for any feedback.
