Breathing problems

Does anyone have any advice regarding breathing while training?

I've herd you need to breath in through your nose and then exhale out your mouth. This will not work for me. I have to breath through my mouth the whole time. Just lately I have noticed that my breathing has become even more labored. I don't know what is happening, but I feel like I'm not taking in enough air. While swimming laps in the pool at my typical pace, I felt like I couldn't breath or get enough air. Then while running a very similar feeling, at 10 minute mile pace.

I live in FL and have been training whenever I can. Swimming is indoors and the water is relatively warm, somewhere around 80 Degrees F. I try to run after my swim and it's usually before the sun actually shinning. However, when I look at my handy dandy phone app. for weather, the humidity is hovering around 88-94 %. My bike rides are typically in the late afternoon or early evening. Usually the Heat Index is around 102-104. I don't have any issues with cramping, just breathing.

Has anyone used any of the breathing apparatuses out their on the market? I think one is called expand a lung.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Josh

I was very much disappointed and this motivated me to do another one and improve my speed. I have been trying but my cycling is one thing that I can not somehow improve on. I am always the slowest and can not cycle more than 15.2 mph on an average. I have been training but I still somehow can't improve my speed. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to improve my cycling speed. Any advice is appreciated.
