The ABF http://www.baseball.com.au/ has worked very hard in conjunction with Little League International to make this happen, Great for growing baseball downunder and great for LL International.

21-23 September we will be LIVE at that link Broadcasting the Aussie State of Queensland U14 Titles, week after U16, then U18.

Hi all. or should I say G'Day All !

It's been quite awhile since I last posted here but I see some familiar names still here.

I know a lot of you are Umps on here.

A friend of mine from Australia recently completed Jim Evans Academy and is currently at the PBUC Evalution Course in Florida.

Have any of you been through that ? i'm trying to get an insight as to what he can expect.

Thoughts on a new Pitchers Helmet ?

Adelaide BITE just won a 15 inning battle to make the final V Perth HEAT next week.

Chalk, there will be a handful of Aussies on MLB starting Rosters this season. A few more up and coming may breakthrough season 2011 or 2012. The next maybe Drew Naylor with the Phillies, may even get a middle relief roster shot this season.

2 Aussies will be at TWINS spring training with "THE KID" Coach 44, Luke Hughes and Justin Huber.

Chalk, buggered if I can't find out what that Tune is ???????

Inaugural Australian Baseball League Final

Baseball Aussie Style...

The Video below is a highlight package from a recent semi final between Adelaide BITE and Melbourne ACES. ( gotta love a team called BITE )

The Inaugural ABL Final starting Friday 11th FEB will be Televised by Foxsports in Australia, i'm not sure what stations in USA but possibly MLB.TV will cover it on-line.

The Final will be hosted by Perth HEAT v either Adelaide or Sydney ( 1-1 in 3 game Prelim Final at present )

Game one of the Prelim series saw David Welch throw the first ever no-no in ABL.

Unfortunately my Team the Brisbane Bandits got knocked out before the 4 team final series, but I plan to be back as a Bandits volunteer next season to help grow the ABL down under.

I'll miss a lot of you TG, FRANK, and many more, but this site is dead, I may post and ask question on the Ump board now and then, but there are some forums and Blogs that are more Australian based that give me more info now.

I'd say contact the Goodwill series guys at their website, I am not sure how they select Umps to travel with them, it would be great to meet one of you from the forum downunder though !

There will be our own top Local Umps also doing the games of course. Apologies for posting here instead of the General board... but it seems no action there anymore.

The first games are here in Brisbane and we are going to do some music and commentary MILB style, hopefully fun for the kids downunder. I know a few boys in the local teams but I would expect the USA visitors to be high calibre oppostion, looking forward to it.
