Backpack the Grand Canyon!

Quest, the outdoor program at Bloomsburg

University of Pa, is organizing a Backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon.

Costs:

$850

When: March 1st - 7th

The cost of the trip does not include the

cost of your flight, food , gear, or any accommodations you may require in

Flagstaff. *We will be meeting in

Flagstaff on the morning of Monday March 1st* . From this point until the evening on Saturday the 7th , we will be camping in or near the Canyon, (expenses are covered by your trip fee). What

is also covered by the trips cost is: a night at a campground on the rim of the

canyon, the shuttle to the Grand Canyon, the return shuttle to Flagstaff, and

Leadership through the Grand Canyon by experienced guides trained in navigation

and Wilderness Medicine.

This will be a strenuous hike into the heart

of the canyon exposing some of the most beautiful views in the world. Injuries

are not uncommon in the canyon. I have no doubts that this will be a very

difficult, while equally rewarding, experience. It is necessary that everyone

hiking the Grand Canyon understands the risks and challenges they will be

facing. THIS IS NOT A TRIP FOR FIRST TIME BACKPACKERS. If you plan to backpack

the canyon it is strongly recommended that you begin training for it as soon as

possible.

If you are interested in this trip or have

any questions, please call Quest at Bloomsburg University at 570-389-4323 or

email us at stquest.bloomu.edu

Check out our website at http://quest.bloomu.edu/
