Try it Poland style.

I remember in L.L. we couldn't even put the white numbers on the helmet to I.D. the players helmet.

Used a marker instead.

Now in H.S. they sell school stickers to be worn on the front of the helmet.

White # opptional.

Maybe if the league eased up on this? It could generate up some funds by allowing the leagues logo and # on helmets.
