WE ARE LOOKING FOR DEDICATED FAMILIES AND PLAYERS THAT ARE WILLING TO WORK HARD TO ACCOMPLISH THE TEAMS GOALS. WE WILL PLAY IN 2-3 TOURNAMENTS A MONTH AND PRACTICE 1-2 TIMES A WEEK.

THE TEAM WILL BE COACHED BY BRIAN WHO HAS OVER 15 YEARS OF COACHING TOURNAMENT SOFTBALL. WE WILL ALSO HAVE AN EX COLLEGE PLAYER ON THE STAFF FOR THE SPRING TO HELP COACH AND TEACH THE GIRLS THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE GAME. SHE STARTED ALL 3 YEARS IN COLLEGE AND WAS NAMED THE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR TWO OF THOSE YEARS.

THE 10U KATY CRUISERS GOLD-BUFKIN HAD A VERY SUCCESSFUL 2011-2012 AND FINISHED WITH A TRIP TO FLORIDA FOR NATIONALS.

OUR GOAL FOR 2013 WILL BE TO COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL AND QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS IN FLORIDA AGAIN.

WE HAVE FUNDRAISERS ALREADY SET UP TO OFF SET SOME OF THE TEAMS EXPENSES.

WE WILL PROVIDE UNIFORMS, BAT BAGS AND HELMETS FOR THE PLAYERS.

WE WILL CARRY A LIMITED ROSTER SO EVERYONE GETS PLENTY OF PLAYING TIME. ALL POSTIONS ARE OPEN AND EVERYTHING WILL BE EARNED AT EVERY PRACTICE AND TOURNAMENT.

WE WILL TAKE THE BEST 02 AND 03 PLAYERS

WE ARE LOOKING FOR ALL POSITIONS INCLUDING A STRONG BRACKET CATCHER.

10 KATY CRUISERS GOLD-BUFKIN ARE PART OF THE 18 KATY CRUISERS GOLD AND ARE AFFILIATED WITH THE KATY GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION, 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION, IN KATY, TEXAS. THE 10U KATY CRUISERS GOLD IS AN ASA AND USFA REGISTERED TEAM AND PLAYS IN BOTH SANCTIONED TOURNAMENTS. WE HAVE TOURNAMENT TEAMS FROM 8U TO THE 18U GOLD LEVEL. THE GIRLS THAT PLAY ON THE 18U GOLD TEAM ALL HAVE BEEN OFFERED COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS IF THAT IS THEIR DESIRE AND GOAL. THE 18U KATY CRUISERS GOLD ARE THE ONLY TEAM FROM TEXAS TO HAVE WON AN ASA CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE GOLD LEVEL AND WERE THE FIRST TEAM OUTSIDE CALIFORNIA TO HAVE WON THE ASA GOLD NATIONALS IN BACK-TO-BACK YEARS (2000 AND 2001). ONE OF THE FORMER CRUSIERS FROM THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM WAS CAT OSTERMAN. THE KATY CRUISER ORGANIZATION IS VERY WELL KNOWN THROUGHOUT CITY OF HOUSTON, STATE OF TEXAS AND THE NATION.

A great event, very low key, relaxing atmosphere, like a race with friends. The run is on a dirt road through camping areas, I saw three deer on the run course. Very cool! The roads for the bike are smooth and fast, very little traffic. I'll be doing more of these events.

The Bayou City Crossfire 01' is looking for a bracket pitcher to replace our #1 who's moving to Austin. We're seeking a committed girl who can compete for the #1 spot in the circle, as well as supportive parents to join a team with outstanding chemistry.

As the Class "C" State Tournament Champions, our team is loaded and ready to take off into the A & B division with the right pitcher!

weekly long run or not

I think a periodic run of 8 to 10 miles (or more) is beneficial for the distances you're racing, particularly if you want to improve your times. Does it have to be every week? No, although I would not recommend going longer than every two weeks. And of course it will be more needed if you decide to run a half-marathon. If the long run leaves you sore you might try slowing a little for that run.

If you find your knees get sore, you should check your running form A pretty good video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSIDRHUWlVo Note I don't agree with everything he says and I'm not sure what "natural running" is. But it has some pretty good tips on form, gait and footplant. Keeping your knees flexed and planting your feet under your hips are probably the most important. The other thing to check is your shoes: that they are not worn out and that they're a good shoe for you.

2014 9u River City Thunder Tryouts

Current 28-5-1 8U team is looking for 2 All star/competitive level players to fill the 9u 2013 fall and 2014 spring rosters. Tryouts will be Sat June 29 at 6:00 at Buechel Baseball Club next to Seneca High School. You cannot turn 10 before 5/1/14 (so your date of birth must be on or after 5/1/04), to be eligable to play.
