Plantar Fasciitis

Hi
I have (had?) plantar fasciitis for more than 3 years now. Investigation of the disorder made me understood that treatment efficiency is very individual - Jim said so too. Something that works for one may not work for the other. There are many causes for plantar fasciitis so different treatments help different people.
There are many treatment techniques that you can try.

Did you try Taping? There are a few Taping techniques you can find in: http://www.plantar-fasciitis-elrofeet.com/plantar_fasciitis_taping.html

For me it all started with plantar fasciitis. The best cardio exercise for someonewith plantar fasciitis is swimming and riding a bicycle. I used to run and I got plantar fasciitis so I started to swim and cycle. Today I’m better with my PF so I ended up in triathlon. I have finished my first Olympic triathlon race two years ago. It did not all happen in one day - I am talking about 3 years now.
My main message is to keep fighting cause it takes time - the only chronic thing about PF is the patient (me and you) that keep hurting his feet without knowing. It took me 2 years to understand that my PF comes from standing (I always blamed my running) and that my custom made orthotics does not work for me.

Takecare & Good luck

It is only the last few months that I dare to say that I am over my plantarfasciitis. I had it for about 3 years on and off.

The last stage of my treatment I decided to go minimal with the shoes (Nikefree) and I can sy it was very successful. But I started using the minimalshoes gradually only after I felt my pain is under control. At the beginning Iused them only for walking 1 or 2 miles each time and only then started runningwith them gradually increasing millage. I believe that this is what finallymade my feet stronger to get rid of the heel pain.

There is a good post on running and plantar fasciitis in: http://www.plantar-fasciitis-elrofeet.com/Plantar_Fasciitis_Running.html

Good luck

Plantar Fasciitis treatment?

I had plantar fasciitis for more than a year and... I am over it now -yes!!!

Well it is a tough one to get over especially if you are a runner.

From my experience the best treatment technique is individual. There aremany treatments just because there are many causes. What works for one will notalways work for the other. So my best advice for you is be active with thetreatments and try, until you will find the one that makes you feel better.

I think that there are 2 phases of plantar fasciitis. The first is verypainful and restricting and the second is getting back to normal. There is nostrict border between the two phases but the way that the patient view it. Thefirst phase needs more rest treatments and the second needs more activetreatments.

Personally I have found taping as the best treatment since it does threethings:

Relieves the pain.

Keeps the foot from getting morestress.

Helps you to keep some of yourdaily routine without pain.

There is some more info about taping for plantar fasciitis in this link:

http://www.plantar-fasciitis-elrofeet.com/plantar_fasciitis_taping.html

Thats it for nowand I hope you will get better soon

I guess you know that running is one of the most common causes to plantar fasciitis. Consult your doc and start running carefully. If you are not obligated to your dauters pace you can always slow down and walk. I am running with PF and found that it is possible. There is a nice post about running and plantar fasciitis in this link.

Have fun

If it does come back you should get a professional diagnosis.

You can find out about plantar fasciitis symptoms in the linked website.

Hi

The plantar fascia is a ligament connecting the heel bone to the toes. Plantar fasciitis is usually an inflammation of the plantar fascia. Therefore the pain can be anywhere across the fascia, although we tend to injure the fascia near the heel.

I am running and I am dealing with plantar fasciitis for more than a year now. There are many things you can do to treat your PF although I understood that treatment efficiency is very individual. If something works for one it may not work for the other.

Try plantar fasciitis taping - I have found it very useful. Taping will keep your foot from getting injured again and will help you get through your daily routine. There are a few Taping techniques you can find.

I had to take a rest but never really stopped running. So I think that first of all you should take a professional diagnosis.

Try more swimming and riding a bicycle if you don't run. I used to run and I got plantar fasciitis so I started to swim and cycle. Today I’m better with my PF so I ended up as a triathlete. Last summer I have finished my first triathlon... Thanks.

Take care & Good luck

I have plantar fasciitis myself for a few months now. My podiatrist prescribed me with Custom made orthotics which did not work at all. I understood that treatment efficiency is very individual. If something works for one it will not always work for the other.

I am not training for marathon but I am running about 25 miles per week. I have found Taping very useful. Taping helps to relieve the pain, keeps your foot from getting injured again and helps you get through your daily routine and exercises.
