The principles are you have to take in more calories than you are burning and you have to invoke your muscles to want to grow, by lifting heavy weights. A hardgainer must be careful not to injury themselves in this process though. Naturally skinny guys have a tendency to have thinner bones and joints. So you have to allow for tendons to grow stronger usually before you can gain a whole bunch of muscle.

Well whether you are female or male the building muscle principles are still the same. You need to lift weights that are considered a little heavy to you and constantly go up in weight. But do not forget to take some back off weeks where you lift lighter weights, to let your body fully recover itself. But yea mostly you would trim off the extra body fat you acquired by cutting some calories someday and doing a little cardio. Sometimes things like going to do some hill sprints do awesome things for gaining muscle and losing body fat at the same time. Sometimes doing steady weight cardio can cause you to lose muscle so be careful about not losing all the muscle you worked so hard to get. That is why I kind of prefer not to let my body fat levels get too high. I am a guy and I do not usually let mine get over 14 to 15% because I feel it is too hard to cut bodyfat without losing muscle in the process. It would be a totally different figure for a woman though, probably more like 20 to 25% <- that was just a guess don't quote me on that

But here is a detailed article you might enjoy reading about building muscle without fat.

--> Fat Free Muscle Building <--

Good luck,

Cory

Well it is true that if you are trying to gain weight, it is possible to gain a little fat. But if you go about it the right way, you can minimize the amount of fat you gain in the process. The best way to gain weight is to take in enough calories but also do a weight training routine. I recommend doing a workout routine that is consisting of compound movements, like squats and deadlifts. These will build more muscle than almost any other exercise. Most likely if you are having a hard time building muscle or gaining weight then you are probably a hardgainer. The days you workout should be high calorie days, where you eat lots of carbs.

Here are some good articles I recommend you reading if you want to succeed at gaining muscle and minimizing the fat gains as well.

--> learn how to gain weight fast <--

--> strength and bodyweight training <--

good luck hope you can pack on some pounds,

Cory Cook

Re: Whey or Soy Protein?

I still disagree that Whey is the best protein to use in large amounts. I believe using moderation with Whey protein is okay, mainly using it right after a workout, but to use

it multiple times a day I would disagree with. If you are allergic to milk then do not use Whey at all, because it is derived from milk. Soy Protein and I even believe Whey are

often processed with hexane, a petroleum solvent similar to gasoline. That doesn't sound like something you should be consuming if you ask me. Hemp protein on the other hand is completely

plant based contains complete protein, lots of fiber, essential fatty acids and is easily digested by your body. No chemicals are used with processing it and it contains nothing else in it besides Hemp protein.

Some say that taking 15 grams of hemp protein is like taking 20-30 grams of Whey protein because you body can assimilate more of it and that means it is being used by the body. Yea Whey protein tastes better but that is mainly because they put tons of sugar and flavors in the protein to make it taste good. Get non sweetened whey and it does not taste like that. I use Hemp protein in a smoothie with fruits and almond milk with a little bit of honey. That makes it taste pretty good to me.

Oh here is some of the side effects you could experience from using lots of Whey protein.

Side Effects

The common side effects of whey protein isolate may include headache, loss of appetite, fatigue, swelling, cramps and increased bowel movements. Other side effects may include damage to the kidneys or the liver, the development of osteoporosis or an allergic reaction. An allergic reaction is a serious medical emergency. The symptoms may include a rash or hives with swelling of the face, tongue or throat, along with difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical care and attention if any of these symptoms are encountered.

http://www.hardgainermusclebuilding.com/articles/nickhempprotein.php
