1craftylady - its a program that is an amazing holistic approach to health. It recognizes that Optimal Health is not just about pounds but in fact about our daily habits that over time, depending on whether bad or good, either serve us or harm us. Unfortunately, most of us despite our best intentions, actually practice "habits of disease" as apposed to habits for long term health. This program is all encompassing, it provides Health Coaches who incidentially most are former clients, who guide you through achieving a healthy weight, while teach you the Habits of health and in turn you learn how to keep the weight off and then move forward toward Optimal health by addressing exercise, stress reduction, proper sleep, etc. You have probably heard that it is better to eat smaller, low fat, low carb meals 5-6 times a day - our program started with this premise - which keeps your blood sugars even and your metabolism under control, generally you are not hungry after the first few days and you have alot of energy! The meals are medically formulated and have been used by physicians for over 20 years - it is safe, effective and used by Johns Hopkins in its weight loss clinic. If a client follows the protocol they can lose 2-5 pounds a week! I had those last darn baby pounds that would not go away, no matter what and I went on the program and lost 15 pounds in 5 weeks and one of those weeks I was on vacation!! I stayed on the program the whole time, it was so easy and when the weight just melts off you have a ton of motivation to keep doing it!! The key to this program is you are taught how to keep the weight off - its a lifestyle change - and the FREE health coach guides you through each phase and is just one aspect of the support you get for FREE.

You go Jessie!! You've already done the hard part, making the decision to do it! To 1) quit smoking & succeeding and 2) to get your health and life back!! I know how hard it is to yourself first, before your kids/family, and commit to something that may take some of your time away from them, especially when they don't see the big picture (the kids are too young, but even husbands have issues with anything that takes the mom/wife "away" even if you are there, just on the treadmill and doing your thing for 30 minutes!!). I have two kids, one 11 with special needs and one 7 who's healthy and especially active! I also have a husband whose schedule has him leaving for work at 5am and then he's in bed by 830pm so when am I supposed to work out? I finally got a used treadmill because I can't get a good walk or jog in while pushing a wheelchair and making sure the 7 yr old is not in the street...But even then when I get home from my 9-5 office job, its time to feed everyone, homework, cub scouts, sports, etc. Next thing I know its 9 pm and the last thing I want to do is exercise!! That's why I signed up for the 5K for my handicapped son's school hoping it would motivate me to get active. I have the losing weight and keep it off part down - I'm a certified health coach and that's what I do, I guide others to lose weight and keep it off - through eating nutritionally complete meals 6 times a day. Its lifestyle change, starting w/ reaching a healthy weight while teaching the good habits necessary to keep it off - exercise, sleep, stress relief, etc. While I have the weight issue down (15 lbs off in 5 wks 3 yrs ago), I need to get fit, cardiovascularly and muscle tone. So hopefully, this training program will help us all reach our goals!! I bowled in a league last night so I'll get back on the treadmill tonight!!
