HAHA!

Just a quick update: I ran a practice 5K this morning and I RAN the WHOLE THING!!! I am so proud of myself! I did it in just over 41 minutes which was about a minute/mile faster than I had been running! I felt pretty good the entire time and didn't struggle too much. I think I am ready for Saturday!!!

It felt really great to get out there and run. My program was a 25 minute run and I didn't know if I would be able to run it all, but I slowed down and took my time and I was able to finish it! I feel much better now that I feel like I'm back to "normal". I'm very grateful that I wasn't hurt more seriously in my wreck.

Good luck to everyone! I love getting the alerts in my email and keeping up with everyone's progress!

I did W6D2 on Saturday and felt good. Was supposed to do W6D3 thus morning, but I was in a wreck yesterday afternoon and rolled my Tahoe several times. The good news is I'm fine--just some scratches, bruises, and sore muscles. But I'm gonna take a few days off to recuperate. Figure I'll play it by ear on running again. Shouldn't be more than a few days.

Good luck to everyone! I love reading about everyone's progress. That is a great feeling! My only complaint was that I forgot a hat since it was only cloudy when I started. I had a hard time keeping the rain out of my eyes. But I will gladly take that over sweating to death any day!

Felt sluggish the entire time and couldn't get into a good rhythm. So imagine my surprise when I was done and checked my distance and it was the farthest I had run! And my pace was the quickest I had run since I injured my heel! Granted it was still slow by most people's standards, but it was faster for me! That made my day and now I KNOW I am ready for W5D3 on Monday morning. Gonna start next week on a good note--I just know it!

And the final 5 minute run was painful, but I did it. I am so proud of myself for pushing through even though I felt miserable and wanted to quit the entire time. I just kept thinking of my 2 little boys at home. I knew they would be waiting for me when I was done and I didn't want to have to tell them that "mommy couldn't do it this morning." They get so excited to see me running again and I couldn't disappoint them. I really hope this heat wave breaks soon!!!

Kristi

Ran at 6 to try to beat the heat here in south Texas and it was still 82 and humid. YUK! The first 3 running segments were okay, but I was really lagging on the last one.
