Re: How do you guard 3pt shooters/shooters?

Once you figure shooters out, they become the easiest people to guard. here are some quick tips that make easy work out of a shooting assignment

1. Run With Them:Dont give them any space, they will make cuts, use screens, and keep moving to find a shot, stay with them and no matter what, dont let them have space.

2. Hand Up:Keep a hand up at all times, this gives you less ground to cover when reacting to their shot, plus its still contested even if you dont react on time.

3. Dont fall for fakes: When a shooter tries to fake me, i just keep my hand in front of the ball, only when i KNOW they are in the air will i jump.

4.Talk to them: Most shooters can be talked out of their game, since shooting is a delicate art. even Ray Allen has proven that no shooter is unstoppable. say stuff like"today isnt your day" "you must just be off today" it puts that into their head without firing them up, so they usually quit the game mentally without realizing it

Now my max vert is 40+ and im almost head high to the rim when i do, i still feel the same every time i dunk(minus the tears though) crazy thing is though, where i play ball at there are a lot of people who make a 40 inch vert look below average. its a good thing im also fast.
