I can do about 2 miles in that time...slow, but I can do it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have a trial 5k Saturday morning with a bunch of people ..so I'll try to run as much of it as I can.... &lt;img height="16px" src="http://community.active.com/4.5.5/images/emoticons/happy.gif" width="16px"/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I go to Maine next week and officially run in a 5k with my sister.....looking forward to running with her and seeing my family!!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Of course VA morning weather is not nearly as cold as Maine morning weather right now..I'm going to freeeze! I live in VA now, where it's still shorts and t shirt weather. My sister in Maine is already wearing pants and gloves and scarf to block the morning chill into her lungs.. I'm going to start running very early mornings here to build up some kind of resistance to the cold air! ha! And start taking asthma inhaler before chilly morning runs. I only knew about the ball of foot because I had shin splints BAD and just felt I was doing something wrong so researched it... ha!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Iweight train so it never bothered my calves, although you are right, it does make them work more.
