Ive been to and left six PTs since I had these two surgeries. All haven't understood the procedures I had and several were completely unprofessional. I wont elaborate, but use your imagination. I did recently find a quality and knowledgable PT who I am happy with. I have an AFO brace for the 'foot drop;' problem is it is causing havoc on my knee and hip, and Im now told it might not actually be a tru foot drop. I was also told that the brace is freezing up my ankle so the muscles there wont have a chance to start working. (Ive been on crutches 8 months this year.)

Hi. I started very light slow jogging around the end of month 4 and slowly built up to 3 miles+. Slow and steady wins the race and exercise is the only thing that makes me feel good. I've been continuing to have pain since surgery this summer in NY (to repair labral tear and cam/pincer impingement and boney work; PRP for hamstring tear) and was finally re-diagnosed: more impingement, and nerve entrapment from hamstring tear healing. Surgery round 2 next week with new out of state OS. I'm not a happy camper having to start back at ground zero and can only wonder what went wrong to set me back so much . The rehab is tough and slow. Patience is key, and it's hard to stay positive. Hopefully this new path will bring me to a pain-free place with a return to ROM.

PS My advice: Get multiple opinions and find the most experienced surgeon your insurance will buy, and for which you're willing to travel (make sure to consider pre and multiple pos-surgical visits as the out of pocket expenses add up fast esp when purchasing flights). Be sure to ask about the OS SUCCESS rate with the procedures you need and if they can see you through any and all complications which might arise. That's what Im now challeneged with.
