How much can a runner improve?

How much can a runner expect to improve in a given amount of time...say, 9 months? I am a 14 y/o girl, and have been running mostly for fitness for about a year, aprox. 15 mpw, give or take a few. I run 4/5 days a week, and have done 2 5ks (25 min rang). I also play varsity soccer. If I really put my heart into it and work my butt off, how much could I possibly improve in 9 months (by next xc season?) I didn't run xc this year btw. What is resonable? Could I drop to a sub-20 5k, and what do I need to do to get myself to that level of fitness? Workouts, ect. Any replies would be great, thanks for reading.

Does anyone have any good recipes for protein bars?? I LOVE Clif bars...escpecially the chocolate almond one and the other chocolate chip peanut crunch.
Sub-25 min 5k thread (and eventually sub-23...before 2007!)

Hey all! After reading the "Sub-20 Minute 5k Thread" I thought I'd start one of my own...for any other slower runners like me, or faster peope who can offer some advice. So what I said in the subject line basically explains everything. Thinking ahead 6-8 months, I'd like to go sub-23 minutes for a 5k, but for now my immediate goal is to break 25:00. My current PR is 25:18, so I'm pretty close.
Is there anyone else who is have similar goals and are interested in joining my "wannabe fast club"? Speak now or forever wish you had I think it will make the training more fun if we know that there are others working toward the same goal. Also...if there is anyone who has any advice to share, then that would be great!

Especially if you're just starting out!!! When i first started I was like 8:27 and now I'm in the mid 6's. BTW thanks for posting...I needed to laugh. You sound like an incredibly bitter and agressive person, and I feel sorry for the people who have to live with you. Life is too short to waste you time writing hateful posts about people who you dont know personally and have never met...especially REDNECKS like me who laugh them off in a heartbeat. If you don't like me or my posts, don't read them. (Didn't I say that before?? Obviously you didn't take the hint, GENIUS.)

Maybe you still like to act as though you're in elementry school (or perhaps you still are???) but I don't and I'm finished with the stupidity of this disagreement or whatever you were trying to make it. This definetly wasn't worth coming unglued over...and i don't know why you did unless you get some sort of stress relief from venting at innocent people.
