Participants had a choice of 1, 2 or 3 laps around the lake (9.5, 19 or 28.5 miles).

The cold weather snap put a damper on the event as approximately 50 participants showed up, out of 100 who had signed up.

Lots of support from the volunteers and police, and kuddos to them. Rest stop were filled with volunteers, more than willing to offer assistance, greeting you with a smile and running out to you to replenish water bottles.

After the ride, cyclists were treated to pizza, ice cream, and beef/chicken/pasta salad from the Meat House

Bottom line: a wonderful well planned, well supported event, for a good cause. What more can one ask for.

Lots of support from the volunteers and police, and kuddos to them. Each rest stop was filled with volunteers, more than willing to offer assistance, greeting you with a smile and running out to you to replenish water bottles.

Course-wise (64 miles), this ride had several challenging hills, not for the faint at heart. The last few miles of the course are relatively flat with a section of newly paved rolling hills, which offered the opportunity to slowly wind down from the ride.

The meal provided at the end was also nicely done. Burgers, veggie burgers, ball park franks, fresh buns, salads, veggies, potato salad, lots and lots of cookies; and of course door prizes:

Bottom line: a wonderful well planned, well supported event, for a good cause. What more can one ask for.

At one point there was over 15 miles between rest stops. I ran out of water and became dehydrated to the point of being nauseous. Not a good sign. With the Oklahoma heat, there should have been rest stops every 10 miles to replenish on fluids.

Rest rooms: Only one rest stop had rest room. Porta potties were nowhere to be found.

SAG Vehicles: Was told they had (1) SAG vehicle but I never saw one. I would have definitely used the service when I felt nauseous from dehydration.

This was my first time on this ride, and will be my last.

I am giving it one star for the friendly people.
