Hi everyone. Just dropped in to see what's been going on here. So glad to see so many of you are still running strong! So happy that you are still here encouraging and supporting each other.

Well...i haven't been able to run for a few months now (4-6 mo.). I guess this stupid brain tumor has taken more out of me than I thought. The brain tumor is shrinking and my eyesight is dramatically better than a year ago, but I have a lot more healing to do. I have been newly diagnosed with a thyroid problem. The doctor said it makes you "exercise intolerant." This is so weird since I was running during my radiation treatments and also trained and completed another MCM 1/2. I'm hoping and praying for more miracles. I've seen sooo many. I know I will run again...hopefully soon. In the meantime, keep on running strong. It is a gift!

I love you guys! Thanks for the warm welcome! Got to share my life story/testimony (now on blog)with 70+ women at my church about how awesome you all are. Thank you for the encouragement to keep running one foot in front of the other, one mile at a time. Sucking it up when I stumbled and smashed into that infamous wall,.Believing and praying for a miracle. God has used you, my running family to encourage me. I am humbled!

I wouldn’t miss this coming Sunday for anything! I am so excited to cheer you all on as you have cheered me on this year and all the way back to 2006. I’m planning to come armed with candy corn, mini snickers and whatever you want/meed.

And Jimmy it is a gift and honor to just cheer you on. This will be the fastest marathon I never ran!

p.s. just got incredible news today after my MRI. A miracle! My stinkin’ brain tumor is a-shrinkin’ HA! God is awesome!

Hi my awesome running community/buddies! I have missed you sooo much! Please forgive me for being MIA this past year (stupid brain tumor).

So... who's running? Len, FireCat, Jimmy....? What are your bib #s and where's the party afterwards? Hope I'm invited. I'm excited about being a 1st time spectator! I plan to be there with goodies to share. I'm wishing you all the best!!! I'm so excited for you and proud of you.

So Young and I are Facebook Luddites and unfortunately don't (and probably won't ever have) Facebook accounts. We also don't watch TV, use electricity, or have running water, but that's another story entirely. It's funny because my mom and even my grandmother are on Facebook, but not us!

Meeting Up After Historic Half?

Hi, this is James writing on behalf of Ruby (A.K.A. So Young).

We are running the Historic Half on Sunday. There is something of a tradition now of meeting up at Applebee's afterwards. Is anybody interested? We plan to be there around lunchtime. (We can post a specific time if anybody responds.) It could be really cool due to recent events and an encouragement to Ruby. I want to post about this on the blog later (http://mynewmarathon.wordpress.com), but at least four good friends and Ruby's brother are also running, so we hope they'll want to come to lunch as well. Also, I think Firecat has said she might come down for the race (?).

There is really no end to the gratitude I have to many of you on this board for being such an encouragement to So Young. (That's not an inducement to go the Applebee's -- just a statement of fact.) She misses being able to post and be an active part of the community.
