This was my fourth tri. This might have been a good first timer tri but doesn't prepare participants for USAT-sanctioned events. My biggest complaint was that the transition area should have been marked. I couldn't find my bike. Participants were taking up multiple spaces and saving spots for friends. I also felt earphones should not have been allowed in the event at all. It was painful riding around people who wouldn't stay to the right. Finally, what was up with the warm bananas? They were left to rot in the heat. The MC tried to make a big deal about staying on the right side of the buoys, but since caps weren't marked who cares? No mention of mandatory helmets. I felt this was advertised as a first tri effort to excuse the lack of preparation.
