Little League Registration Database

Hi - we are looking for a new registration database program. Does anyone have one they really like? We currently have LAS and are not totally satisfied with it. We want something that will do player registrations, team assignments, rosters, as well as possibly financial tracking, and game scheduling etc. Anyone have a suggestion? What is good?

thank you!

You don't just throw a team together on June 15 and end up playing in Wpt. Every team down there is together in some form year 'round for 4 or 5 years leading up to their 12 year old season. 6 or 8 of them play on an AAU or travel team, maybe they go to the batting cage every week or two all winter, something........you cannot compete at that level if you don't do something extra.

I don't know if there was any waiver needed or not. We have 21 leagues in our district and have a double elim tourney so they need all the time they can get when you factor in the 4th of July and possible rain dates. I think school gets out for us on the 21st so there may be a practice or two that I miss!

Just wondering if other leagues are in the same boat as us. The district team will be selected on June 15 and our first game is on June 25. That leaves us 9 days to practice. We have conflicts with the last 2 days of our regular season on the 16th and 17th so if I somehow squeeze a practice in on those 2 days I will have a partial team. I can have a full team on the 18th. Then on the 19th, 20th and 22nd we have conflicts with our league playoffs. So basically there are 4 days where I will hopefully have a full team for practice. How does someone who works 9-5 get it done!

LL Inequities

Here are some thoughts I have on LL and the LLWS:

- why do some teams (MEA for one) only have to win 5 or 6 games to qualify for the WS? For a team from my district 5 or 6 games may not even get you a district championship. Doesn't really seem right to me.

- Why doesn't LL try to balance out the number of leagues within each district in a particular state? For example, here in Massachusetts we have 16 districts. Some districts have 9 or 10 leagues, and some have 24 or 25. Shouldn't LL look at this every few years to ensure that every league has an equal road to their district championship and state championship?

- There are 8 games played at 8:00 during the LLWS, why do some teams get to play twice in that time slot and others do not get a slot? I realize that not all 16 teams can play in one of the prime time slots - 3 of those games are eliminiation games. The schedulers could make sure that each US team plays in one of those slots, maybe make sure that if a team doesn't play in a prime time game one year that they do get one the following year. Maybe 4 US teams and 4 International teams each year.

- ESPN and ABC need a basic LL coach as a third person in the booth. The guys gernerally do a great job (with the exception of Musberger) but they sometimes think they know whay certain things are happening and they do not - this is LL baseball, not MLB - it's not the same game.

- Lastly - I would think that LLB could afford to let the players keep their game jersies after their team is eliminated. Why do they have to charge them if they want the shirt and then if the parents agree to pay they do not even get the actual game shirt, they get a replica? OK, maybe there is something in the by-laws about getting gifts etc, so if you have to charge the parents charge them face value and give the kid the actual shirt, not a replica. Don't tell me that LLB doesn't get some kind of sweet deal from Russell on the unifomrs.
