      <description>&lt;!-- [DocumentBodyStart:d369b51f-a754-4d5d-88ef-3562b920aed2] --&gt;&lt;div class="jive-rendered-content"&gt;&lt;p&gt; Thanks, now that im on w4d2 (well tomorrow I will be) im having trouble 'resting' or really, replacing my resting with something light, Ive tried the eliptical but that really works my legs like hard on the thigh (couldnt do more than 10 mins) the bike is ok, but hard as well, I guess I dont find joy in anything but running. My schedule isnt easy but I get my 3 runs in a week weather I'm in week2-3 or only week 3 but what I didnt really count on was getting a knee injury because instead of taking a day off in between my running workouts I wanted to get all 3 in so my schedule layed as tues-thurs-sat. If I knew I couldnt workout on sat I would run tues, wed, thurs sometimes friday. Ya... only 3 weeks in and my knee is telling me to take a break. I wish I would of known going to strong is wrong...&amp;#160; But the odd thing is i never felt sore (other than days 1-2) and I never hurt. Until the day I broke and my knee shot sharp painful pins into my knee caps/nerves. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;so the moral... In really love running and feeling the strength I'm building. Here is my problem, there isn't a 5k in my area really at all even next year!! I've only found 2 10k's (one offers like a 2 mile walk and shorter run which is 2 miles as well I think) but no official 5k! I dont want to wait till I find a 5k... Is it dumb or wrong or.. On my last run, last Friday, I started to have a sharp painful pain in my left knee, I finished the entire 30 workout hoping the pain would subside, thinking it might just be tight, well it's Tuesday and the pain as gotten to where if I turn on my knee it hurts, it even hurts when I walk. M really upset and worried I have just started running and I don't want my dream to end before it even begins :( please someone help with info, what to do ( I have been icing it all weekend) and I'm suppose to workout at 530 today, what should I do?! Its a bit trialing when not only your boyfriend (whom you workout with but also the couch/trainer at the gym your attending says to not use the treadmill, but the eliptical). I want to run not slide my way into a better life. I have dreams of running at 5k and a 10k, and for once in my life I feel like those dreams are attainable!       <title>C25K Outside vs Treadmill</title>

Im on week 3 day 1 tonight and Im a member at a YMCA where I live so running on a treadmill is all I know. I really enjoy running on a treadmill myself (it helps alot that our treadmills have a small tv per and cable tv lol) I recently used one without a tv on it and feared I would be super bored looking outside but I was extremely surprised when by the end of my 30 min workout my thougts and the random music I had playing on Pandora (online radio for iphone) kept my moving and distracted. I love that when it says "walk" I decrease my speed to a comfortable 3.2-3.4mph or "run" I can increase it to 5.4-6.5mph and for me as a beginner I love having the treadmill to push my walking or running and it kepts my speed up. Yet the down side to running on a treadmill is the utter cold turkey it is when you change to outdoors and the hard brisk road. So thats something I will have to face when I get better at running and decide to train outside for the 5k.
