Lou has a great idea with the wood bats even tho you will go through a lot more of them than aluminum and your costs could go even higher. The power stats will also shrink with the wood bats but the kids would be getting the "real" baseball experience. It's your call. TM

From what I see from a lot of responses are "Making up their own rules" and using age difference to justify this. The rules are there for a reason and we do not have the authority to change them just because there might be some heat coming from participants. If you are consistant the heat will deminish. TM

Sorry Kyle, I just don't buy it. Your explanation seems to satisfy your needs and the rules be damned. I am a baseball purest and I teach the game according to the rules as stated. The "with the book" senario would allow your to just about change any existing rule and I would never accept that argument. So keep your job in California but I on the otherhand will continue to teach "by the rules" and at the same time teach the various nuances that this game encompasses. TM
