June C25K Starters

There we go - W3D1 completed this evening. We were both a bit intimidated by the 3 minute runs, but we managed to pull through in spite of rather heavy rain.

The lower back pains I experienced the first week are all gone. However, my left shin is not too happy with me tonight. I am a bit worried about this shin splints thing I read about being very common for new runners. I've no idea if what I'm feeling is an actual injury or just my muscles being very surprised that they're being used all the sudden - how do I tell the difference between shin splints and a muscle being "tired"?

Week 2 day 1 completed yesterday.

First week was a bit rough, especially day 3 where I really started doubting that I could step up to the week 2 pattern. Thankfully, W2D1 was actually so far the one that felt the easiest, especially with regards to my lower back. It's been hurting quite a bit during week 1, but almost nothing so far in week 2. Hoping it stays that way . We have W2D2 scheduled for Friday afternoon, and D3 for Sunday, let's see how everything is after that

C25K- Couldn't finish 2 mile run. What now?

I'm completely new to C25K myself, but have done other similar interval plans in the past.

I'd say stop forcing yourself and repeat a week if you're not comfortable. I would definitely not skip ahead as it just gets harder later on. Repeat week 5 until you're comfortable you can manage the 2 mile run

There is nothing wrong or embarassing with repeating weeks - the 9 week schedule is a guideline, everybody is different. Personally I fully expect to have to repeat some weeks here and there.
